Ensures Health & Welfare and Pension plan proposals and changes are accurately updated in internal systems. Executes and monitors processes to create and load weekly and ad hoc proposal files to the group plan administration system. Creates plan update files and transmits to vendor on a timely basis. Identifies and documents system enhancements and defects. Performs user acceptance testing for system releases.    

Key Responsibilities 

  • Process group and pension plan proposals and verify that individual records are updated appropriately within the established timeframe and that the required documentation and information has been received and approved.
  • Ensure correct adjustments and/or billing is reflected on invoices and monitor reports to very accuracy of plan processing.
  • Collaborate with new business and benefit services teams to implement and onboard new business and plan changes.  
  • Research complex cases/issues while identifying, documenting the issues and resolution in JIRA and other workflow system in timely manner to maintain a high standard of customer service.
  • Develop test cases and perform user acceptance testing to validate that results meet requirements and business needs.
  • Act as a lead and subject matter expert on system processing of incoming cooperative splits, mergers and new subgroups.


 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills  

  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and additional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience of Health and Welfare and/or Pension Benefits.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with defining and documenting procedures and ensuring data quality in large transactional systems.
  • Knowledge with JIRA, Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and Omni.
  • Strong problem solving, analytic and interpersonal skills.

Essential Physical Requirements:

• The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.

• Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
