Summary of Position

NRECA's Human Resources (HR) Department strives to deliver Service Excellence as #oneHR. We work collaboratively to deliver programs and solutions as a caring business partner.  We consult, advise and help managers and employees accomplish their goals, while supporting their individual needs.  As a full-service HR department, our vision is to attract, retain and develop the best and brightest people to serve our members. 

We are looking for a talented Human Resources Business Partner to join our collaborative talent management team to foster an engaged and inclusive work culture that aligns with NRECA's strategic objective to provide excellent service.  This role would serve as a strategic and operational partner to various business units. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with several business units to provide guidance, consultation, and direction regarding workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, development, and organizational changes.
  • Develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization and acts as a valued business partner that ensures the integration of HR programs.    
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure NRECA employees receive a full suite of HR services delivered with excellence. 
  • Lead employee relations matters including conflict resolution, performance issues, conducting initial investigations, and involuntary separations.
  • Serve as a champion for HR program change management; facilitates and influences processes to help drive and sustain performance and other change efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or an equivalent combination of education, training and additional experience. 
  • 6 years' experience of HR business partner experience
  • S/PHR, SHRM-S/CP required or commitment to obtain within first 9 months.
  • Strong understanding of HR functions, including talent management, performance management, and employment law.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills to support our communications strategies and documentation of programs.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to manage through complex situations. 
  • Strong analytical skills experience using HRIS systems to administer and deliver HR programs.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and execute tactically. 
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job.
  • Hybrid Work Schedule available after 90  days

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
