Hourly Rate: $17.20 TO $17.45

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • The Cook reports to the Food Services Supervisor or designee and is an hourly, non-exempt position. 
    • The Cook is responsible for preparing center meals, establishing menu, and determining quantities of food needed. Demonstrates and abides by Odle Management Core Values and operating principles.
    • Plans and coordinates procedures necessary for day-to-day operations of center dining facility.
    • Efficient and timely arrangement, servicing, and clean-up of meals.
    • The Cook maintains complete inventory file on food and equipment, ensures minimum waste through efficient storage, inventory, and food utilization.
    • Maintains strict safety and sanitation codes and procedures.
    • Submits weekly activity and other reports as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Two or more years' food preparation training and related work experience preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a ServSafe food safety certification.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred.

 

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of good nutrition, especially as it pertains to youth. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Knowledge of OSHA regulations. Must meet state or local food handling requirements, whichever are more restrictive. Must maintain CPR/First Aid certification. Able to work some weekends and flexible hours. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population.
