Job Corps:At Job Corps, we're dedicated to making a real difference in the lives of young individuals. Our government-funded, no-cost education and vocational training program, administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, aims to empower socioeconomically disadvantaged youth between the ages of 16-24. We provide them with the tools they need to succeed in both their careers and personal lives.
Position: Dormitory Supervisor
Location: 7175 Highland Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15206
Reports to: Shift Supervisor
Employment Type: Salaried, Exempt
Salary Range: $42,000 to $43,000

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and counsel students in assigned dormitory, ensuring their safety, well-being, and adherence to center guidelines
- Serve as the Career Success Team (CST) leader for the dormitory, providing leadership and guidance to resident advisors
- Maintain order and discipline in the dormitory while promoting self-discipline and awareness of others
- Schedule and supervise clean-up and repair assignments to ensure a safe and healthy living environment
- Assist students in handling special problems and conduct dormitory meetings to address concerns and plan activities
- Facilitate prompt assistance to students in case of injury, illness, or emotional trauma, following center protocols
- Cultivate a positive climate free of harassment and intimidation, promoting a safe and respectful environment for all
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Associate of Arts degree preferred, or two (2) years of work-related experience
- One year of experience in dormitory management or working with at-risk youth preferred
- Previous Job Corps experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to effectively relate to and communicate with disadvantaged youth
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Knowledge of Education and Career Technical Training programs, as well as local social service resources
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff and students
