Description

An Electo-mechanical technician is responsible for assembling and wiring production projects ranging from simple cable harnesses, electrical cabinets, mechanical frames or guards, to turnkey automation systems that include both electrical and mechanical assemblies. This position receives parts from the warehouse and instruction from the engineering group but is otherwise responsible for successfully taking assembly projects from start to finish on schedule.

  • Receive production job parts and materials via job tote: check each item against the pick list for accuracy and for damaged goods.
  • Maintain responsibility and organization of production job components while on the floor.
  • Layout electrical panels independently, with final approval from electrical engineering.
  • Assemble and wire electrical panels utilizing best practices and industry standards.
  • Assemble mechanical systems including aluminum extrusion frames and guards and multi-discipline electro-mechanical assemblies such as automation work cells. Assembly should be completed based on prints and drawings, while utilizing best practices and creativity for a professional finished product.
  • Troubleshoot, test, and re-work electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct field service including electrical and mechanical assembly or retrofits.
  • Maintain and continually improve organization of the shop floor and the processes related to the above activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience with shop equipment safety and operation including but not limited to electrical assembly tools, carpentry tools, machine shop tools, and fork truck.
  • Understanding of basic and complex electrical principles including the ability to read an electrical schematic.
  • Ability to utilize common test tools such as multi-meters and oscilloscopes for testing and debugging
  • Electricians License and Trade Experience preferred.
