POSTING TO ENROLLED ONEIDA TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY


Salary is Negotiable

After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Conduct thorough and comprehensive background investigations in accordance with established policies and procedures on volunteers, prospective and existing employees.


Responsibilities:

* Review and assess background file to determine required steps to complete investigation.
* Utilize the Employment Eligibility Requirements, background eligibility for all Tribal positions.
* Interpret to the results of the investigation to assist in determining the employability of the applicant; prepare and submit reports and investigative results of investigations to supervisor in order to establish suitability for employment.
* Follow up on incomplete records as required.
* Verify employees are able to fulfill their community services with Oneida; verify employees are eligible to volunteer in tribal departments.
* Compile accurate and timely monthly reports on background investigation results.
* Obtain fingerprints as needed.
* The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position
* Complete in-person, video conference and telephone interviews in order to obtain necessary information for background check.
* Conduct criminal background checks on volunteers, prospective and existing employees utilizing a variety of resources to include the Crime Information Bureau, Wisconsin CCAP, education verification, character references, financial and personal history, law enforcement agencies and court systems, and other agencies and organizations as necessary.
* Work closely HR Department and inform appropriate personnel of employee/applicant background status.
* Research laws, investigate facts, and prepare documentation and reports as requested.
* Investigate recent criminal activities of volunteers, prospective and existing employees who have been identified according to established policies and procedures; determine which criminal offenses require follow-up with Manager.
* Enter all information received into Backgrounds Database ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.

Skills:

Nonessential:
* Business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic
* Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format
* Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements and the State and Federal Care Giver Regulations

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Associates Degree in Business Administration
* Associates Degree in Human Resources
Nonessential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration
* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal Vehicle
* Insurance Required
* Investigator Adjudication Certification, within one (1) year of employment

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
