After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Accomplish the Family Services Department mission and objectives by collaboratively working to promote positive choices and healthy lifestyles for families in the community. Provide supervision, support and oversight to the Community Advocates of the Yon^haliyo (Prevention and Domestic Abuse) team. Continuation of this position is contingent upon funding allocations.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement the goals and objectives of Yon^haliyo (Prevention and Domestic Abuse) programs to ensure quality services are delivered. This will include, but is not limited to the following:
                   a. Develop, implement and monitor department goals and objectives.
                   b. Assist in any change agent that is implemented to improve the quality of services and achieve department and/or program goals.
                   c. Develop, monitor, and maintain program budgets.
                   d. Grant management and budget oversight to include grant application, grant/budget compliance, required data collection and reporting.
                   e. Oversee record and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with Tribal, State or Federal database management systems.
                   f. Ensure families are referred to appropriate support services.
                   g. Provide culturally based healing opportunities/experiences to individuals and families.
                   h. Prepare and submit program reports, work plans, correspondence, statistical and other documents as required.
  • Provide leadership to the Yon^haliyo (Prevention and Domestic Abuse) staff; to include hiring, scheduling, mentoring/coaching, work assignments, evaluation of staff, training, corrective action, and staff time.
                   a. Facilitate regular staff meetings to ensure communication between personnel and program-related activities.
                   b. Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes program outcomes and objectives.
                   c. Support and guide staff on direct service delivery; home visits, support services, assessments, intervention, referrals and follow up services.
  • Develop education awareness and build positive relationships. This will include but is not limited to the following:              
                   a. Assist in planning, developing, coordinating and implementing community education and awareness events for the community.              
                   b. Cultivate relationships with Tribal, County, State, Federal, private agencies and related committee/coalitions to ensure quality services for the Nation.                
                   c. Positively represent the Oneida Family Services Department at internal and external committees, staffing, meetings et              
                   d. Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and case needs courteously and promptly (Customer service provided shall be in line with the organizations “Good Mind” core values).
  • Ensure the maintenance of confidential client records, ensuring pertinent, accurate, and current information.
  • Keep abreast of research, trends, interventions and resources in the areas of domestic abuse and prevention.
  • Adhere to all Tribal, State and Federal Laws, Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies.
  • Maintain strict department security, confidentiality, and quality to meet professional standards of the department.

* Knowledge of the Oneida community, history, and culture including healing-based practices/techniques.
* Knowledge of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) and Domestic Abuse and family dynamics
* Knowledge of available support program and services (e.g. TANF, housing, mental health, AODA).

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Social Work
Nonessential:
* Master's Degree in Social Work

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal & Tribal Vehicle
* Insurance Required
Nonessential:
* Driver Safety Training
* Child Abuse Reporting Policy (CARP)

Credential equivalent experience:
Essential:
* A valid driver's license or occupational driver's license, reliable transportation and insurance is required. Must obtain a Wisconsin driver's license or occupational driver's license within thirty (30) days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver's license. Must be authorized as eligible to operate a Personal and Tribal vehicle under the Oneida Nation's Vehicle Driver Certification and Fleet Management Law prior to actual start date. Must maintain driver's eligibility as a condition of employment.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.
