After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Community Education Instructors provide instruction and training for all ages and abilities of students. They may work at a variety of levels teaching different skills to either individuals or groups. Individual instruction topics may include GED programming, math and English. Classroom training may include digital literacy and beginner software.


Responsibilities:

* Assess student academic skills upon entry and cooperatively develop educational plans.
* Develop, teach, educate, and tutor higher subjects or basic skills individually or in a small group.
* Designing and delivering engaging, high-quality instruction aligned with Tribal and state standards.
* Select, assign and review individual lessons for GED/HSED test preparation.
* Assist students on all school subjects and post-secondary school entrance tests including ACT, SAT, PPST, Accuplacer and Wisconsin Skills Test.
* Evaluate and assess students' needs or abilities for the effective implementation of teaching methodologies.
* Develop, evaluate, and recommend for purchase subject curriculum(s) and coordinate subject materials in cooperation with other CRC staff.
* Work cooperatively with the Oneida Tribal School System (K-12) tribal programs, local public/private schools, local vocational/technical/four-year colleges.
* Administer and review student capability assessment tools as needed or required.
* Troubleshoot or assist students with basic computer skills.
* Prepare, compile, and maintain daily records or reports as needed/required.
* Educate college, university and technical college students in academic skills as needed/required.
* Troubleshoot or assist clients with basic computing skills, operation of the lab computers, on-line courses and provide basic internet instruction.
* Open or close the CRC facility following prescribed procedures.
* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to, addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

* Ability to plan or schedule by setting priorities efficiently and effectively. Must demonstrate the ability to meet strict deadlines and successfully cope with stressful situations or working conditions.
* Ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, and the community to support students holistically.

Education Requirement - Or A Closely Related Field:

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Education General
Nonessential:
* Master's Degree in Education General

Credentials:

Nonessential:
* Complete Oneida Certification on Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect training within ninety (90) days of employment.
* CPR and Red Cross First Aide certification must be attained within three (3) months of employment. Certification must be maintained during employment.
* A Wisconsin (DPI) License in Special Education, Elementary Education, or Secondary Education in a core academic area (Math, Science, English, or Social Studies).
* Ability to obtain appropriate teacher's licensure within one (1) year of hire.

Must pass a background check to meet Employment Eligibility Requirements. If applicable, must pass a background check to meet Oneida Nation/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance, and may be required to obtain a temporary license and/or Gaming license as a condition of employment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
