After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

Calculate, review, and reconcile financial information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Assist with coordination of improvement projects with Accounting departments, divisions, teams, or employee groups to enhance or improve the quality of systems and services provided by the Oneida Nation. Assist with monitoring the business activities of the organization through the maintenance and control of financial records. Assist in preparation of financial and statistical reports and statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.


Responsibilities:

* Ensure financial information is complete, accurate, and in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state, and local accounting policies and procedures.
* Assist with the development of improvements to accounting processes. Assist with the development of system reports, tools and training that enable Accounting and other fund units to utilize the financial system to the best of its ability.
* Assist with the coordination of user access to the Nation's financial software based on the user's job responsibilities, ensuring that proper segregation of duties is maintained. Assist with periodic review of financial system access.
* Assist with verification and maintenance of business information reporting systems.
* Assist with the maintenance of General Ledger and reporting module system controls and security to ensure organizational and financial reporting needs are met.
* Assist in cross functional teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
* Assist with annual external audit including preparing and reviewing audit schedules.
* Reconcile general ledger accounts with supporting documentation to ensure balance sheet accounts are properly classified, recorded at realizable value, and supported by adequate documentation.
* Develop a working knowledge of each system module and its contribution to financial reports including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Purchase Management, Fixed Assets, Intra-tribal and Project Management.
* Assist in implementing and testing upgrades to the financial system and accounting software.
* Communicate professionally to establish and maintain working relationship with co-workers, business unit representatives and management and provide quality customer service to both internal and external customers on a timely basis.
* Participate in staff meetings and acts as a mentor to Accounting Assistants and staff members.
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge by conducting research, attending seminars, educational workshops, classes, and conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing networks; participating in professional societies; conferring with representatives of contracting agencies and related organizations

* Knowledge, experience, and skills operating a personal computer with word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software programs in a windows environment pertaining to leasing/various real estate information

* Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing
* Skill in preparing, reviewing, and analyzing operational and financial reports.
* Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds
* Ability to exercise independent judgment.
* Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations, and requirements including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Governmental Accounting Standards.
* Knowledge of department organization, function, objectives, policies, and procedures.
* Advanced skill level in Adobe, word-processing and spreadsheet programs in a Windows environment.

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
