After successful completion of the probationary period, employee will receive off probation wage increase.


Summary:

This position will work with customers of the Oneida Vocational Rehabilitation Services Project determining eligibility, co-developing with consumers an individualized plan for employment (IPE), facilitating the identification of service providers, delivering services to the customers and monitoring the progress of the customer through completion of the employment plan. 


Responsibilities:

* Establish a Job Training Program client eligibility certification and documentation based on the medical and psychological records obtained, and/or disability conditions observed.
* Conduct intake interviews with potential Vocational Rehabilitation Services Project customers.
* Secure customer “Release of Information” documents for all identified medical and/or psychological service providers.
* Develop an individualized plan for employment (IPE). Perform post-employment follow-up.
* Facilitate employability assessments, vocational exploration activities, other vocational training and career development activities utilizing internal and external resources.
* Identify and refer consumers with specific employment barriers to appropriate agencies and/or resources for further assessment and/or assistance.
* Develop and maintain accurate, up-to-date client files, counseling notes and other file materials as required by Section 121 Program regulations.
* Monitor and evaluate consumer progress and assist consumers by facilitating problem resolution for issues which interfere with employability or work performance.
* Practice excellent customer service skills at all times to include, but not limited to addressing customer and employee needs courteously and promptly (Customer service provided shall be in line with the organizations "Good Mind" core values)
* Comply with restrictions and guidelines as outline in federal grant documents, with attention to the performance standards established by the U.S. Department of Education/Rehabilitation Administration.
* Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required

Essential:
* Inform and communicate verbally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations with the ability to process information effectively, identify and define problems and make objective decisions
* Knowledge of the Oneida community, history, and culture and government
* Must present a professional appearance and demeanor as a representative of the Oneida Nation in dealing with the general public
* Must be willing and able to obtain additional education and training to stay updated on emerging technologies
* Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals and groups in a complex, multi cultural environment is required.
* Ability to develop IPE's (Individualized Plan for Employment).

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:
Essential:
* Bachelor's Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling

Credentials:

Essential:
* Driver's License Personal Vehicle
* Driver's License Personal & Tribal Vehicle
* Vocational Counselor Certificate
* Insurance Required

Credential equivalent experience:
Essential:
* Vocational Counselor Certificate or must be willing to obtain within 18 months

Must be willing and able to obtain additional related education and training.

Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and adhere to the Nation Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy.

A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment.

Must provide a copy of diploma/degree, license, or certification upon employment.
