Job summary

The Social Impact Specialist will be a key contributor to enhancing employee engagement and building strong community partnerships under the leadership of the Director of Social Impact. This role will manage our employee volunteer and giving platform, develop engaging campaigns, and ensure programs align with our strategic impact objectives.

To succeed in this role, individuals must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for fostering employee education and involvement, engaging with the community, refining program processes, generating reports, and communicating program outcomes. A keen understanding of the organization's impact and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential.

Above all, this role requires a compassionate and empathetic individual who can build relationships, listen attentively, and drive inclusive solutions. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively collaborating with team members.

This position will work out of the Corporate Office located in NW Portland.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Manage and develop our employee volunteer and giving platform, ensuring user-friendliness, accessibility, and data integrity.
  • Design and execute campaigns to promote employee engagement, volunteerism, charitable giving, and cause awareness, working closely with cross-functional teams (Marketing, HR, Communications, Financial Wellness, etc.).
  • Build and cultivate relationships with key community partners in alignment with our company values.
  • Track and measure the impact of our programs, analyzing data to demonstrate the value we create.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive reports on impact activities for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in corporate social responsibility, social impact, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
  • Create and coordinates communication and distribution of resources with internal and external stakeholders in support of departmental activities, including managing resources available on the Learning Center and intranet.
  • Coordinates administrative needs, including meeting set up, material prep, communication reminders, vendors, and employee activities.
  • Supports development, reporting, and forecast of metrics and activities.  Will participate in quarterly and annual reporting requirements as needed.
  • Support work and scope of OnPoint Ambassador program tracks.  
  • Coordinates and attends special events outside of normal business hours within Oregon and SW Washington.
  • Respond to inquiries about volunteer opportunities and collaborate with Financial Wellness on financial education-focused opportunities.
  • Direct OnPoint employees to appropriate contacts, training material, or other resources to ensure successful community engagement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers across diverse personalities and maintain professionalism.
  • Strong understanding of volunteer management platforms (Benevity preferred) and design tools (Canva preferred).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality related to sensitive topics, and employee issues and concerns.
  • Well-developed personal computer skills using internet, and MS Office programs.  Adept at excel and experienced in translating data into meaningful charts and dashboards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and a positive outlook. 
  • Polished, professional, and effective presentation skills for all audiences and levels within and outside the organization.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills; a team player who encourages and models collaboration and positive problem resolution.
  • Skilled at connecting with people with varied backgrounds and experiences with an understanding of issues surrounding access, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Adaptable to changing situations and environments.
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and manage deadline-driven assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to strategically develop and implement new ideas and objectives.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education (ideal areas of study or experience are: Community Relations, Employee Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibility, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in employee engagement, social impact or related role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful employee engagement programs.
  • Experience in building relationships with community partners, particularly in underserved and underrepresented communities.
  • Passion for creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace.
  • Light physical exertions with ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally work nights and weekends as business needs require.
  • Must have the ability to travel  occasionally within Oregon and SW Washington.

 

Pay range: $64,000 to $77,000 per year
