Come work in a fast-paced environment with great people who value your input, take ownership of their work, and produce great results.  Job Skills / Requirements Working on assigned shifts, you will work casual shifts providing proactive and reactive security to various clients.  You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to coded emergencies in a quick and efficient manner.  You should display excellent customer service skills.  In this role, it is essential that you are physically fit and able to stand and walk for long periods of time.   Position Details:  Position:   Casual Security Guard  Site:   Various Sites Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours    Hours:   Various Hours Payrate:  $18.00 - $21.00/hr depending on site Internal Posting Date:   March 20, 2025 Internal Closing Date:   March 27, 2025
External Closing Date:  April 20, 2025    

Key responsibilities:  

  • Monitor and patrol the premises to ensure safety and security. 
  • Perform regular security checks of the property, including parking areas, entrances, exits, and other designated areas. 
  • Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or unlawful activities. 
  • Control access at entry points and ensure only authorized personnel enter the premises. 
  • Respond to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies and take appropriate actions as needed. 
  • Assist in the enforcement of company policies and procedures, including monitoring and reporting any suspicious activities. 
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or security breaches promptly to the management team. 
  • Complete daily logs and security reports, documenting any unusual occurrences. 
  • Provide assistance to employees, visitors, and vendors as needed. 
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly. 
  • Cooperate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and other authorities when necessary. 
  • Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and ready for use. 
 Prerequisites:    
  • Valid Security License for the province of Ontario   
  • Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)  
  • English (oral and written) fluency is a must   
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. 
  • Completion of Paladin's Use of Force and Management of Aggressive Behaviour training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position   
  • Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
