The Retail Team Lead / Assistant Supervisor (2IC) is responsible for overseeing the security operations at Mayfair shopping mall. The Team Lead / Assistant Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with administering Paladin's program to the site and security team, looking after the key audit, performance management of staff members as well as day-to-day operations including patrolling and customer service.
Pay Rate: $23-$25/hour
Essential Job Duties:
- Responsible for the general operation of all Paladin staff on site.
- Supervising, mentoring, coaching, and training site staff.
- Following our continual disciplinary model and implementing as needed.
- Corresponding with the Site Supervisor and P&C department to ensure all required information is compiled and up to date.
- Assisting the Site Supervisor with staff schedules and addressing schedule abnormalities as required.
- Maintaining team morale through effective communication and organizing team engagement.
- Responding to site emergencies in a lead capacity, contacting and coordinating with emergency responders.
- Patrolling the site and overseeing the success thereof for all parties.
- Assisting the Site Supervisor with ensuring all Paladin staff are providing exceptional customer service to tenants, visitors, and patrons.
- Report writing and reviewing all staff reports to provide constructive criticism.
- Tracking training and signing off to ensuring compliance of contractual obligations.
- Ensuring the completion of all required online courses.
- Collaborate with the Site Supervisor and SPM to create comprehensive site drills for the staff.
- Assisting the Site Supervisor with maintaining the Paladin OH&S program on site, including risk assessments and First Aid Records.
- Along with the Site Supervisor, ownership of the overall success of the site both during working hours and afterhours.
- Other site related duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Strong de-escalation skills.
- Multi-tasking ability.
- Experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a security or retail environment.
- Valid Security License
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with limited supervision.
- A high level of maturity and professionalism.
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Physically able to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be at least 19 years of age and have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
- First aid training, conflict resolution, and Advanced Security Training are considered assets.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
High School Diploma/GED
Valid BC Security Licence
