It features high-care processing and clean-room packaging in a regulated, food-grade environment. The site emphasizes safety, quality, and sustainability, with strict access controls and operational standards to support continuous production.

Position: Full Time Security Guard
Site: Flora Food, 10 Craig St, Brantford, ON N3R 7J1
Hours: Continental Nights (1900-0700hrs)
Payrate: $18.11/hr.

Averaging Agreement: Overtime is Averaging Agreement after 88 Hours

Job Description:

• Be able to comprehend and demonstrate competencies of Flora Food and the Security policies and procedures with an ability to use a customer service approach.
• Be able to keep an open and objective mind, remembering the site's diverse community.
• Assist visitors, and employee during crisis and contact the necessary emergency services as needed.
• Ensure that the property is safe by ensuring all security measures are functioning properly.
• Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols (exterior and Interior), and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
• Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public.
• Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources.
• Handle Lost & Found items and inquiries.
• Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person
• Maintain positive and constructive relationships with the Client's staff and external clients by providing timely and accurate support as required.
• Perform duties and tasks assigned by the Security Leadership team and respond to the directions of the client; Flora Food.
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the client.

Qualifications:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario.
• Valid First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider.
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must.
• Minimum 1 year security related experience preferred.
• Superior customer service skills.
• Knowledge of relevant Federal, Provincial, Municipal laws and By-laws.
• Position requires the ability to walk/stand/climb stairs for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability.
