Summary of Job Description:
The Decentralized Learning Manager (DLM) is a field-based individual leader who is a critical part of the regional Business Unit support team. This DLM is primarily responsible for the execution of training standards in non-traditional franchise concepts across all areas within the region, as well as partnering with the Regional Business Unit Leader on strategic initiatives. While remaining restaurant-focused, this DLM serves as both an ambassador for the corporate culture as well as an expert in the field of training and development.
You'll get a chance to:
- Impact the business by evaluating and supporting these three key pillars: Crew Training, Manager Training, and Internal Development.
- Be responsible for the strategy and execution of certifications for Non-Traditional concept restaurants.
- Conduct and document restaurant visits to evaluate training effectiveness and identify operational support needs.
- Provide feedback on execution of functional job responsibilities and overall performance.
- Ensure the execution of restaurant training standards through high-level restaurant engagement and analysis of ongoing monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.
- Facilitate training for Train the Trainer classes for new and updated company initiatives.
- Be responsible for the internal development strategy for all restaurant crew (including management teams).
- Deliver performance through coaching and training.
- Support New Restaurant Opening (NRO) training in coordination with the Regional Leader of Growth.
- Support the selection, hiring, and onboarding of new DLM or DLS (Decentralized Learning Specialist).
- Lead restaurant training projects for non-traditional concepts to support the successful implementation of company initiatives.
- Provide regular business updates and analysis of restaurant training performance.

Your background and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, hospitality, communication, adult learning, or related field
- Minimum five years of experience in Learning & Development or Operations, with increasing management responsibility, preferably in a retail/hospitality operations environment; formal training in facilitation skills from a reputable training organization
- Minimum five years of field training experience and five years of restaurant operations experience (quick service or fast casual) as well as successful completion of initial and other required training
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Successful completion of initial and periodically required trainings.
- Obtaining a valid Food Handler's Card within 30 days of employment is a requirement of this position.
Work Environment:
- Field-based position; travel, meeting, and store environment, up to 75% (includes local travel to restaurants, training site, and meeting location as well as overnight trips to support as required), varies by concept.
Pay Range: M2 $112,500 - $158,000 / Annual
* Within the range, individual pay is determined using various factors, including work location and experience.
ADA Statement:
While performing duties, counter areas are often hot with steam from steam table and food vapors. Workspace is restricted and employees are generally expected to remain standing for long periods of time. Employees must prepare hot and cold foods, use Chinese cook knife and other kitchen equipment and work quickly without losing accuracy. Employees must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stand up to four hours and reach across counter tops measured at 36 inches to serve customers. Kitchens are hot and noise levels are usually high; storage space is limited and shelving is high. Employees must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, have effective verbal communication skills, ability to adapt to a dynamic environment with changing priorities, and the ability to manage conflicts/difficult situations.
