Description

Provide day-to-day support to the organization's end user desktop computers, printers, phones, mobile devices, and software. Assist in maintaining Desktop Administration related servers and researches new technologies for solutions to existing and future issues. This position interfaces directly with internal customers and various departments, troubleshooting user issues to resolution. Other areas of responsibility include but are not limited to assisting other IT departments with various tasks, providing Time and Attendance support to external customers as needed, and support of Audio/Visual equipment such as projectors and sound systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Desktop Administration
    • Provide support for Windows workstations, various peripherals, and VOIP phones
    • Perform hardware and software installation, upgrades and configuration
    • Adhere to company procedures for hardware/software requests and installs
    • Provide problem diagnosis and resolution for hardware and software problems
    • Install all peripheral components such as printers, scanners, phones and disk drives
    • Answer inbound technical support calls and emails
    • Provide telephone, in-person, and remote support to end-users
    • Coordinate activities with other departments as needed
    • Support corporate owned mobile devices
    • Troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity issues
    • Provide accurate and timely logging of problems
    • Escalate issues as needed
    • Work with vendor, software provider, and manufacturer support as needed
    • Monitor ticketing system and complete tickets in a timely manner
    • Image new and existing desktop systems
    • Create new images and update current images
    • Maintain proper inventory of all desktop related assets
    • Provide updates, status information, and completion information to manager and/or users as needed
    • Support corporate audio/visual equipment
    • Travel between remote sites to perform assigned duties
    • Assist in the maintenance of Desktop Administration related servers and appliances
    • Maintain inventory of software and ensure software license compliance
    • Research new technologies to solve existing and future user issues
    • Assist in maintaining appropriate equipment levels for demand
  • Documentation
    • Documents specific duties, activities, problems solved and issues resolved
    • Assists in the documentation of the network as it relates to Desktop Administration
    • Provides and updates training documentation
  • Miscellaneous
    • Attends meetings and serves on committees, as requested
    • Performs additional duties and assignments as requested
    • Must be very security conscious and do all it takes to avoid sensitive data falling into wrong hands
    • Ability to effectively handle stress, pressures, and challenges


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor Degree

Experience:

  • 1+ years of Desktop Administration

Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of:
    • Computer, network operations and maintenance
    • LAN/WANs
    • Microsoft Windows XP/7/10 Operating Systems
    • Microsoft Server 2003/2008/2012 Operating Systems
  • Evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow and determine solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations and policies
  • Provide technical assistance for computer problems
  • Read and understand technical manuals
  • Work for extended time at keyboard/terminal
  • Maintain effective working relationships with supervisor and coworkers
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings

Additional Requirement(s):

  • Due to the nature of this position and the need for employees in this position to either work an on-call schedule or be on site within a short period of time, the successful applicant must live within 45-miles of the posted office location.
