
Description
The Motion and Graphics Designer is responsible for creating strong, creative, effective graphics, animations and branding for learning content to ensure effective knowledge transfer and promote learning engagement. The Motion and Graphics Designer partners with project stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), department leadership and colleagues in research, planning and creating visual content.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create strongly branded design work from initial idea to final production. (e-learning courses, infographics, job aides, fillable PDFs, videos, animations, gifs, other materials)
- Study design briefs, requirements and constraints to determine correct solution.
- Develop concepts using a variety of pre-visualization methods such as sketches, storyboards and animatics.
- Partner with instructional designers and other peers to produce effective designs.
- Contribute to concepts and ideation for projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of design trends.
- Maintain current knowledge of best practices for effective learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in design, art, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience related to graphic design or motion graphics.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
- 2+ years of direct experience in graphic design or motion graphics.
- Experience utilizing a design software.
- Experience designing for e-learning or training.
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong design and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to generate creative, unique and relevant designs.
- Understanding and appreciation of storytelling.
- Strong sense of composition, design and typography.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with aggressive deadlines.
- Desire to think creatively and explore new media formats for learning.
- Advanced communication both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a collaborative setting.
- Ability to give and receive feedback.
- Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
