Description

The Motion and Graphics Designer, Sr. is responsible for creating strong, creative, effective graphics, animations and branding for learning content to ensure effective knowledge transfer and promote learning engagement. This Motion and Graphics Designer, Sr. will partner with project stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), department leadership and colleagues in research, planning and creating visual content. This role will help coordinate and manage all aspects of delivering visual assets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage design on complex learning projects.
  • Create strongly branded design work from initial idea to final production. (e-learning courses, infographics, job aides, fillable PDFs, videos, animations, gifs, other materials)
  • Study design briefs, requirements and constraints to determine effective solutions.
  • Develop concepts using a variety of pre-visualization methods including, but not limited to sketches, storyboards and animatics.
  • Manipulate and edit footage.
  • Work with music, voice-over and sound effects.
  • Contribute to concepts and ideation for projects.
  • Partner with instructional designers and other peers to produce designs that aid in creating effective training or content.
  • Aid in mentoring/developing junior members of the team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of design trends.
  • Maintain current knowledge of best practices for effective learning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in design, art, or other related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience related to graphic design or motion graphics.

Experience:

  • 2+ years of direct experience in graphic design or motion graphics.
  • Experience utilizing design software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • 4+ years of direct experience in graphic design or motion graphics.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe design software.
  • Experience designing for e-learning or training.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong design and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proven ability to generate creative, unique and relevant designs.
  • Understanding and appreciation of storytelling.
  • Strong sense of composition, design and typography.
  • Ability to adapt and take lead on projects in a fast-paced, changing environment with aggressive deadlines.
  • Advanced communication both written and verbal.
  • Ability to give and receive feedback.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of WCAG AA accessibility standards.
  • Customer focused mindset.
  • Agility in learning, with an openness to new ways of thinking. This includes but is not limited to having the desire to think creatively and explore new media formats for learning.
