Pay Range: $185,000 to $285,000 (DOE/DOQ)

Hours per Week: 40 hours

Workdays: Monday to Friday

JOB PURPOSE: The Medical Director is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team who serves as an operational liaison between medical and psychiatric providers and organizational leadership while serving as an advocate and liaison between consumers and PBH clinical teams. The Medical Director is an integrating force who fosters alignment of the healthcare team to provide evidence based, safe, high-quality, cost-effective care for the community served by Peninsula Behavioral Health.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the comprehensive health services provided at PBH, including psychiatry, primary care, pharmacy services, and nursing care, across all PBH facilities.
  • Actively participates in organizational initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Provide leadership to PBH facility-based healthcare providers including clinical and administrative supervision.
  • Collaborate with community partners, peers at the state Health Care Authority and Department of Health, as well as the local Public Health Department.
  • Train new Providers on the PBH policies and keep current medical staff up to date on Washington State and federal regulations and best practice standards.
  • Establish, develop, and implement the overall plans, goals, and objectives to lead the PBH Medical Department's various programs.
  • Support and create new and effective population health strategies for healthcare staff to ensure interventions are effective, efficient, and necessary.
  • Work with the Chief Operating Officer to develop the current and future business processes to support PBH expansion and sustainability.
  • Work effectively with the Director of Quality and Compliance to ensure regulatory compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations, including Washington state professional standards of practice, Revised Code of Washington, Washington Administrative Code, and agency policies.
  • Provide clinical support and work with other members of the leadership team to develop, communicate, and implement the overall agency strategy.
  • Ensure the cost effective and efficient delivery of care, and the proper utilization of resources.
  • Provide direct patient care using proper, recognized modalities of treatment.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, LICENSE(S), CERTIFICATION, AND EXPERIENCE:

Education:

  • Graduation from an accredited school Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner program; or
  • Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited university.

Licensure:

  • Full, unrestricted Licensure to practice psychiatric medicine in the State of Washington AND
  • Full, unrestricted DEA license to prescribe medication AND
  • ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; OR
  • ABPN Board certification in General Psychiatry

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years clinical practice.
  • Minimum two (2) years administrative experience in a psychiatric/behavioral health setting.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience supervising others
