Position Summary
The Senior Director of Customer Operations for DCM is expected to directly work with a large portfolio of customers to maintain operational acuity and synchronization with customer requirements. This role is accountable for pretax and revenue growth, achieving common business practices and metrics across customer operations. This person will be operational lead for core selling team responsible for deal strategy and pricing. They will lead our efforts around safety, finance, continuous improvement, and HR across operations.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations DCM, this role will lead a team of 3-5 direct reports. The position is responsible for building a high-performing team culture, developing talent, and ensuring effective collaboration across departments to achieve business objectives.
Qualified candidates for this role will have at least 10 years of experience in transportation and/or logistics, with at least 5 years of team leadership/management experience. Strong understanding of customer alignment, pricing, and operational financial responsibility. Qualified internal candidates can be based in Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, or Atlanta. Relocation assistance may be offered to highly qualified internal candidates.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team to achieve business goals and support individual career development. • Proactively work with customers to target opportunities to improve operational effectiveness.
• Serve as an escalation resource for customer issues
• Collaborate with and direct sales leadership to target, evaluate and explore growth opportunities.
• Maintaining consistent, high level operating metrics an service levels across multiple locations operational execution to customer requirements.
• Lead the execution and compliance of safety processes and programs.
• Communicate and take action regarding essential customer information including but not limited to: operational metrics, organizational changes, operational procedures to all locations across a customer portfolio.
• Navigating successfully through dotted lined, matrixed organization with respect to pulling in resources to help remedy customer issues.
• Lead talent management and succession planning efforts across team.
• Develop and execute market growth strategy in key verticals and geographies across the customer portfolios.
• Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree required, Concentration in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Transportation and/or Logistics required.
• 5 years of management experience required.
• Understanding of pricing, contracts, & process improvement methodologies required
• Must have Multi location P & L experience
• Must have demonstrated exceptional leadership skills
• Strong executive presence and presentation skills required
• Must have a full understanding of field operations
• Financial acumen required
• Collaboration skills required, must act as a liaison to multiple internal groups
• Proven Project Management experience required
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels required
• Must promote high standards within the team

• Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time is required for this role.
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
