The Student Services Advisor will provide assistance and service to students, and will support the Student Services Coordinator with daily initiatives.

Together, we can create a supportive and thriving educational environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor student progress reports to ensure students maintain satisfactory academic progress and attendance.
  • Assist students with resources including, but not limited to, tutoring assistance, outside agencies that specialize in childcare services, housing, and financial resources.
  • Reach out to students and correspond with professionalism and empathy while adhering to all FERPA requirements.
  • Guide students to the proper personnel to resolve issues and challenges.
  • Assist campus staff in resolving student placement, financial aid, and admissions concerns.
  • Document all student communication appropriately.
  • Assist with Course Rescheduling, Change of Status, and Leave of Absence forms.
  • Track, monitor, and facilitate documents for re-entries and re-enrollments.
  • Assist with new student initiatives, workshops, and success programs.
  • Assist with the new student orientation programs.
  • Assist students with electronic resources.
  • Assist in planning and implementing student activities such as graduations, student appreciation days, and monthly student recognition events.
  • Assist with building and maintaining a calendar of events for compliance-related topics and events to promote a strong campus community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate Degree required.
  • One (1) year of experience advising students in a post-secondary education
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and word processing/computer skills, Math skills.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, or experience that meets the minimum qualifications.
