Project Description: PMA has an On-Call OPM Contract with the State of Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management & Maintenance (DCAMM). Through the Contract, DCAMM is looking for a Resident Engineer/Clerk of the Works to oversee a roof replacement at the Franklin County Sherriff's facility in Greenfield, MA.
Position Summary: Reporting to the DCAMM Project Manager during Construction, this Resident Engineer/Clerk of the Works is responsible for on-site observations and daily reporting on progress, as well as monitoring and coordinating testing and inspection services full-time during the construction phase. Communicate and collaborate with the Owner/Architect/OPM team to ensure project integrity and a high-quality work product that consistently meets or exceeds the project's contract documents, drawings, and specifications. Maintain records at the OPM's on-site field office, including but not limited to written and electronic correspondence, contract documents, change orders, change directives, reports, shop drawings, project data, and samples. This on-site position is required immediately through July 2025 and depends on DCAMM approval.
Position Requirements:
- Knowledge of field construction project management typically acquired by a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years' experience providing Resident Engineer/Clerk of the Works project support or 15+ years of field experience on construction projects. Roof replacement experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated abilities in communication (both verbal and written), multi-tasking with a high degree of accuracy, and judgment
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Working knowledge of E-Builder or the ability to learn.
- Direct construction trade experience or knowledge is beneficial.
- Prior municipal/public works project experience is helpful.
- Demonstrated record of timely job performance in support of normally expected construction work hours.
- The ability to pass a CORI check is required.
$60 - $70 an hour
Additional Requirements Physical: Standing or sitting for long periods; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times and spend extended hours in front of a computer screen. Cognitive: Problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills; computer and software skills; and ability to read and interpret text online or in printed form.
