Government Security Manager - Reston
Why We Have This Role
Qualtrics operates in a world where security threats are evolving, and being as secure as possible is paramount, especially for our government customers. As the Government Security Manager, you will lead a specialized team tasked with protecting our products and infrastructure for U.S. Federal customers. Your team will focus on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), Security Engineering, and Operations to achieve and maintain government authorizations like FedRAMP High and IL4. You'll maintain company-wide security standards, lead a skilled team, and collaborate across business units to address complex security challenges. The impact of your role is broad—you'll help protect sensitive customer data, uphold the company's reputation, and ensure ongoing secure service delivery for our most demanding clients.
How You'll Find Success
- Proactive Leadership: Take the initiative, understand the expected outcome, get the necessary context, and work entrepreneurially to achieve security goals for our government platform.

Things You'll Do
- Lead Team and Drive GRC: Lead a small team with expertise in GRC, Security Engineering, and Operations. You'll drive the continuous monitoring and authorization processes required for FedRAMP High and IL4 certifications.
- Enhance Platform Security: Build and implement comprehensive security solutions across product, cloud, and infrastructure areas to meet federal requirements.
- Manage Vulnerability and Operations: Establish and maintain an effective vulnerability management system, conducting regular checks and swiftly acting upon detected issues. You'll also oversee the daily security operations for the government-specific environment.
- Develop Data Protection Protocols: Define and enforce strict data protection protocols in accordance with federal standards, ensuring the security of our government customers' data.
- Collaborate Across Business Units: Work closely with all areas of the business, forging partnerships to support federal security initiatives and create a coherent front against emerging risks.

- Expertise in Government Security: We want to see your proficiency in dealing with federal security aspects, including FedRAMP High and IL4 authorizations, as well as a strong understanding of relevant controls (e.g., NIST 800-53).
- Collaboration: Demonstrate your ability to collaborate and build partnerships across different business units and with government customers to achieve security objectives.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: Share instances where you acted swiftly and effectively to manage complex security or compliance issues in a government environment.
