Manager, Payroll

Full Location: Bengaluru - IN

The Manager, Payroll leads day-to-day payroll department operations and is responsible for employee payroll processing in accordance with company guidelines and policies.

In this role you will:

  • Manages and reviews payroll system vendor, contractor and supplier contracts and entered by the company in relation to payroll services.
  • Plans and controls the operational flow of the department in coordination with other departments to meet payroll deadlines and to continuously improve efficiency and minimize cost as follows:
  • Manages and maintains the operational efficiency, upkeep, safety, and security of all physical assets related to payroll including processing facilities, systems, and human resources.
  • Approves other transactions processed by the department as required at such level including disbursement voucher processing, bank crediting, and reporting requirements submission
  • Safekeeping of all payroll files and documents and adherence to confidentiality
  • Preparation and review of the completeness and accuracy of all government contributions and timely payments and reporting requirements. Ensuring full reconciliation & submission of accurate payroll reports to HMRC and Pension Regulators.
  • Assists in the preparation of department plans, annual budget, and monthly analysis of performances, including justification of variances.
  • Ensures payroll systems are set-up and updated to reflect our current employee base, including wages, benefits, sick and vacation time in line with contract terms and conditions
  • Manages regular preparation of relevant management reports, including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.)
  • Manage the delivery of year-end processes in accordance with all relevant legislative deadlines.
  • Review and implement process improvements, documentation of processes and alignment of functions of personnel to focus on efficiency, accuracy, and timely payment of payroll to employees.
  • Hiring and training of new payroll team members
  • Regular review of the performances of direct reports, coach, disciplinary actions based on the Code of Conduct.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's/College Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance and Accounting or equivalent
  • 4+ years' experience in Human Resources or Accounting
  • 3+ years' experience in Payroll management
  • 2+ years' experience in payroll processing
  • The ability to manage sensitive and confidential materials
  • Proficient and effective English verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to exercise discretion and interact effectively with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong understanding of UK & Scotland payroll processes, tax regulations, statutory deductions, including income tax, National Insurance contributions, and pension contributions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other payroll Knowledge of IRIS Earnie IQ or My Digital Accounts (MDA) is a plus!
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills
  • Knowledgeable on Country/Region Labor Standards and compensation
  • Year-end tax reporting/reconciliation knowledge (required)
  • Hands on experience leading a payroll team (required)
