Summary:
The Pipe Yard Associate is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing conduit orders in compliance with company standards of safety, security, and productivity.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment. Assume responsibility for immediately addressing safety concerns
- Efficiently pick customer conduit orders for shipment ensuring that the correct number and type of conduit is loaded and shipped
- Assemble various types of conduit for shipment
- Carry or transport conduit orders to shipping locations, or delivery platforms with materials handling equipment
- Print, tag, and mark orders as required
- Ensure outbound conduit shipments are accurate and free of damage
- Release pipe transfers through the Warehouse Management Software (WMS) dashboard screens to process customer and branch orders
- Assist in unloading of freight and moving conduit to storage locations. Unpack incoming shipments
- Examine conduit for defects and sort items according to extent of defect
- Efficiently and accurately documenting packing slips, BOL and PO's for damaged and/or short/lost shipments
- Maintain a minimum standard for productivity and accuracy as determined by current company policies
- Operate narrow-aisle stand-up rider lift trucks in performance of stocking duties as required
- Perform daily machine check list and operate any material handling equipment safely and efficiently as required
- Properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job task
- Report any damage to electronic hardware, material handling equipment at the Distribution Center immediately to a Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment. Training will be provided by the company
- High School or GED - Preferred
- Must be willing to be trained on all the following material handling equipment: Forklifts, stand-up reach truck, High-Reach Narrow-Aisle, Stand-Up Rider pallet Jack that conform to OSHA safety training requirements. Training will be provided by the company as needed
- Ability to properly use and understand all computer programs and hardware necessary for completion of the job tasks
- Ability to perform other receiving positions as required
- Must be able to operate stand-up reach truck
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math skills to work environment
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand RF scanning devices
- Ability to work overtime as needed
