Summary:
The VP Region Business Development is responsible for leading business development strategies designed to generate, pursue, and close business with prospect accounts as well as build and maintain relationships with new and existing key customers. Lead region strategic initiatives to ensure success of long-term goals and objectives. Grow and manage strategic growth markets and segments across the region. Help drive the transformation in the region by creating a culture of learning while developing the team to accomplish the goal of being the #1 electrical distributor.

What You'll Do:

  • Oversee the business development and execution of the region's key initiatives meant to assist the organization in meeting its long-term goals and objectives
  • Work with region president to define key strategic growth markets and capture share growth in targeted markets
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with decision makers at key and target customers, local vendors and/or agencies to secure new business and maximize the value delivered
  • Develop and provide solutions to strategic key and target customers that drive mutually positive business outcomes
  • Help develop sales effectiveness training and reinforcement that incorporates key competencies for professional sellers
  • Develop growth plans and KPI tools to evaluate the growth and penetration of key strategic markets
  • Contribute to strategic planning direction and goal setting for increasing our customer value proposition
  • Identify key strategic suppliers and develop necessary relationships and stock portfolios needed for success
  • Track business impact regarding strategic initiatives and programs and prepares reports and recommendations for executive leadership
  • Encourage team members to participate in self-development programs that help to develop skills necessary to succeed in work and life
  • Use appropriate sales trainee development training program to keep our new sellers engaged by providing them with the tools necessary to become a professional seller
  • Help build and manage sales pipeline for key growth segments
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading and building high performance teams in B2B industry or 10+ years of experience directly related to being a key resource training and developing high performance teams
  • High School or GED - Required
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
  • Significant industry knowledge
  • Proven ability to initiate, develop and grow senior relationships within key and target customer organizations and influence purchase and buying decisions
  • Ability to drive strategic direction
  • Demonstration of sales acumen, critical thinking, solution development, intellect, drive, and executive presence
  • Ability to connect training, reinforcement, and results, by using data analysis to measure impact
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Strong business acumen specifically with B2B sales
  • Ability to build collaborative internal and external relationships
  • Proven ability in building excellent client relationships, offering value added, insightful and strategic insight into their business
  • Ability to create and implement innovative and creative action plans
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective proposals and presentations with decision makers
  • Critical thinking skills
