We currently have an opportunity for a Dispatch & Hygiene Operator at our Portgordon location. 

The Dispatch & Hygiene Operator is responsible for ensuring correct loads are run up into the out loading bins for collection, intake of product to storage bins and general housekeeping of plant and equipment.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Work with the Production Manager to ensure correct blends are run into the out loading bins and to co-ordinated the loading and dispatch of finished product in bulk.
  • Ensure sampling of dispatched loads are taken, properly labelled and brought back to the main site for analysis and storage.
  • Ensure bulk delivered malt to site is filled into correct storage bins.
  • Work with Engineering department by reporting faults, to minimise production lost time and by supporting the operation of the sites CMMS.
  • Work with site management to ensure compliance to health and safety procedures and take an active role in improving site safety.
  • Ensure all areas of plant and sites are maintained to a high level.  Carry out day to day cleaning duties such as sweeping and pressure washing. Ensure all cleaning records are completed as required.
  • Support all areas of the site to ensure safe and efficient production of our products.  As and when required, undertake production duties to support teams.
  • Work with the Production Manager to  ensure correct blends are used to fill bins for customer deliveries.
  • Ensure Auto-sampler is active while running up load and good representative samples are taken, bagged and labelled.
  • Make sure that vehicles are directed to the correct loading bin and are loaded with the correct product.
  • Ensure vehicles loading in bulk are checked for cleanliness and the previous three loads are examined to comply with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure dispatch paperwork is completed correctly and dispatched with the correct product.
  • Take samples as required of loads coming in and out.
  • Liaise with site team to identify which storage bin to use and then using the HMI software ensure this is set up correctly.  Monitor before leaving.
  • Report identified hazards, near misses and accidents to your line manager as soon as possible to allow action to be taken.
  • Report any breaches in Crisp procedures to your line manager as soon as possible to ensure company and legal requirements are met.
  • Ensure that the loading area, both inside and outside is kept clean and tidy to an auditable standard to ensure compliance to food safety regulations and customer requirements
  • Ensure that the intake tipping area is kept clean and tidy and undergoes a complete clean regularly to avoid contamination of product by mixing grain.
  • Keep grounds area tidy by cutting grass over the summer and general maintenance.
  • Work with the Production Manager to perform cleaning tasks, as part of the site team, around site as required.
  • When available, help in other areas as required to support the site team to meet the production and hygiene requirements.
  • Support with holiday and sickness cover, including additional hours.
