Working with Richardson opens the door to a world of possibility.  We currently have an opportunity for an Electrician at our Portage la Prairie, MB location.  Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Electrician will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant equipment.  This position is scheduled to work day shift, Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, modify, repair and maintain electrical circuits, devices and equipment

  • Calibrate and trouble shoot instrumentation devices and maintain detailed records

  • Trouble shoot electrical and control equipment to correct processing upsets

  • Assist in shutdown duties and maintain clean and organized work environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician Certificate

  • Previous PLC experience is required

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in fire alarm systems and automation in processing environment

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge and experience with industrial processing and packaging environments

  • Computer skills with experience in CMMS

  • Must be willing to work overtime and "emergency call ins"
