We currently have an opportunity for an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright at our Richardson Port Terminal located in Thunder Bay, ON. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position will provide support for mechanical repair and maintenance of plant equipment in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Completes regular preventative maintenance on all mechanical equipment according to established schedules and procedures

  • Troubleshoots, fabricates, repairs and installs mechanical equipment/parts in accordance with established procedures

  • Participates in training related to this position

  • Operates in accordance with health, safety and fire prevention regulations and practices

  • Provide assistance to other Maintenance team members in a unionized environment

  • Strong work ethic with focus on working safety while completing all tasks

  • Ability to work shift work, scheduled shutdowns and respond to Emergency Call-ins

  • Work additional overtime hours as required

  • Additional duties and responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Certificate of Industrial Mechanic/Millwright (433A) or 2nd/3rd year apprentices

  • Ability to read and work from blue prints

  • Ability to organize and plan work order assignments

  • Basic computer skills with ability to learn in-house system

  • Must be capable of lifting and stacking 50 lbs. without assistance

  • Demonstrate organizational skills and personal initiative

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and a proven safety record

  • Ability to work in conditions such as confined spaces, heights, dust, and temperature extremes
