Summary

RNDC is looking for a skilled control state portfolio manager to join our growing team. The Control State Portfolio manager works towards portfolio development and management of the fine wine divisions to achieve company sales and profit objectives.  

In this role, you will
  • Establish, recommend, and implement strategies, objectives, policies and plans for the company's wine sales program, in addition to coordinate statewide chain objectives. Develop and administer the budget for the sales program. Evaluate and control performance to plan. 
  • Be responsible for the realization of division objectives for sales and revenues. Create and utilize comprehensive sales plans that analyze competitive trends, gains and other activities in order to devise effective counter strategies and tactics. Provides current information on trends and new products within and outside current portfolio, i.e., scores, tasting results, etc. 
  • Manage the activities of subordinate internal and external sales staff and managerial personnel. Direct the company's field sales staff in achieving planned quotas. 
  • Travel to sales territories statewide to monitor field activities and gain perspective of current market conditions. Develop and maintain customer relationships within the marketplace. Interact with suppliers in the market and provides updates on product successes and possible future opportunities. 
  • Plan and develop the annual sales forecasts by product line and region, as well as plan and develop the various aspects of sales meetings. Execute and participate in various meetings of sales program. 
  • Analyze past sales performance data in order to develop and initiate strategies for improvement. 
  • Interact with Sales/Marketing management to interview future suppliers, while evaluating existing brands/types for future success. Identify and communicate to the marketing department new product development and revisions to existing product lines. Maintain internal relationships with other sales/marketing and operational departments to insure the successful operation of the company. 
  • Engage in the more difficult negotiations (as support to sales representatives) to develop new business and resolve the more critical problem situations affecting the sales program. 

 

What you bring to RNDC

Five or more years related experience with an alcoholic beverage wholesaler or supplier and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of Internet, Microsoft Office Suite software, and order processing systems (such as Logility, Microstrategy, and etc.) or the aptitude to learn; requires a current, valid state driver's license; ability to meet vehicle insurance requirements as defined by the company; Alcohol Beverage Commission (ABC) License, as required by the state; ability to regularly operate a motor vehicle; ability to travel occasionally.
