SummaryThe Transportation Analyst will play a pivotal role in optimizing our transportation network, overseeing a $200,000,000 spend. This position involves gathering and analyzing data to drive network-wide RFPs, enhance efficiencies, and maximize cost savings. With a keen eye on market dynamics and expertise across various modes of transportation (e.g., ocean shipping, LTL, over the road, intermodal), the Analyst will utilize analytical prowess, PowerBI proficiency, and business acumen to ensure seamless operations and superior customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will- Lead network-wide and regional RFPs to drive cost savings.
- Implement systems to monitor and track ocean shipments efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with freight forwarders/consolidators to enhance visibility and streamline processes, bolstering customer satisfaction.
- Optimize inland drayage, intermodal, and warehouse operations to reduce demurrage.
- Play a pivotal role in the implementation of a comprehensive TMS system.
- Support inbound flow by standardizing delivery scheduling through platforms like OpenDock.
- Partner with purchasing to maximize load planning efficiencies and cost savings.
- Develop insightful reports and dashboards utilizing PowerBI and Excel.
- Drive carrier organization restructuring by standardizing and centralizing information.
- Create a network-wide carrier scorecard to ensure superior on-time performance and delivery.
- Systematically monitor and track transportation goals and timelines.
- Ensure alignment of systems and teams in routing appropriate carriers.
- Collaborate with IT to resolve any system inefficiencies or issues.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in a relevant field.
- 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain, Warehousing, Transportation, or Manufacturing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferably, experience in the Wine & Spirits or Distribution industry.
- Proficiency with industry-leading software such as Oracle, Blue Ridge, and Manhattan WMS & TMS.
- Strong background in system planning, movement between multiple warehouse locations, receiving, put away functions, and oversight of inbound receipts.
- Experience in logistics and transport within a multi-facility distribution environment with high SKU counts.
