Title: Patient Access Coordinator

Regular Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Ambulatory Services - Head & Neck/Plastic & Reconstructive Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Manages the processes which facilitate the efficient, effective and timely entry of patients into the various diagnostic and treatment areas within Roswell Park; coordinates activities and conducts staff training for those engaged in patient access operations; participates in daily Admission, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) functions; coordinates all the duties of a Senior Patient Access Representative (SPAR) and the Patient Access Representative, which includes, but is not limited to, assuming responsibility for the effective and timely entry of patients into Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, coordinating and making arrangements for all access-related activities including data gathering, triage, communicating with referring physicians, scheduling visits and pre-visit diagnostic tests, admitting patients to the hospital, communicating expectations to patients, communicating with disease-site teams, and providing insurance and financial clearance for new and return visits; acts as a team leader of the disease-site clinical patient access team and/or a Patient Access functional team and ensures that work is delegated and completed accurately in the required time frame; discusses the personal financial responsibilities of patients with respect to investigational or non-covered treatments; attends disease site multi-disciplinary team meetings and communicates pertinent information back to the access and clinical team.

Total combined salary range for Nurse II's is $58,247 - $74,135 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package..
The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinic, healthcare business office or patient access type of environment; or
2. Associate's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinic, healthcare business office or patient access type of environment; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of six (6) years of full-time experience in an ambulatory or outpatient clinic, healthcare business office or patient access type of environment; or
4. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time experience within the Patient Access Department at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
