Job Description :

SUMMARY

The Fuel Tax Compliance Associate II is responsible for supporting the Fuel Tax Services team by providing analytical, technical, and financial expertise to ensure accurate and timely filing and reporting of fuel and mileage taxes. This position leverages tools such as Workday Finance, Appian, Microsoft Access, and Excel. The role functions within the team responsible for tax filings related to vehicle fuel and mileage compliance, continuously seeking improvements in operational processes and design. The Fuel Tax Compliance Associate II contributes to organizational projects and goals, implements initiatives, and leverages automation to optimize efficiency and minimize unnecessary compliance tax expenses and exposure to Ryder and its customers. The position provides excellent customer service to all external and internal customers while maintaining compliance in all areas of fuel and mileage tax reporting and filings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs necessary pre work and complex analysis for high profile Fuel Tax adjustments. Responsible for handling customer escalations, national account reconciliations and bi-weekly dispute distribution. The subject matter expert for Fuel Tax functions and issues, supporting internal and external customers
  • Actively work all Fuel Tax adjustments (New Invoices often High Dollar). Obtain documentation from customer to adjust invoices and process credit. Review credit details with customer and address outstanding balances providing education for payment.
  • Maintain currency for special handling accounts including in depth monthly SHUT audit, root cause analysis, closed loop for internal errors, calculate tax adjustment and apply credits as needed
  • Collaborate with Collections to resolve IFT Short Pays, Disputes and ACH Rejections. Provide feedback to Collectors, the Customer and BU partners facilitating collection of documents and/or payment. Work through manual tax adjustment/credit whenever possible, coordinate with customer on credits and outstanding balances providing education for payment. Disputes received directly from Collections
  • Maintain process for annual MPG override analysis. Develop and maintain protocols, desk procedures, training guides, and internal control documentation, including adherence and support on internal and external SOX audit controls
  • Functions as team lead, providing guidance and support to include quality control and performance audits within the team
  • Contribute to documentation and user manuals as directed
  • Participate in projects, committees or focus groups related to opportunities and enhancements in Fuel Tax and Licensing.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

  • HS Diploma/GED, required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Five (5) years or more of related business experience in Fuel Tax, required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

$55,000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

$55,000.00
