Summary
The Manager Sales will receive oversight from a Senior Vice President of Sales and day-to-day supervision from the local DOS. A tailored, individual training and development plan will be put in place for the Sales Manager to accelerate his/her readiness to interview for future DOS openings. This development time in the Sales Manager position will vary based on the incumbent's background and experience. The duration of the Sales Manager developmental assignment will be 24 to 36 months.
Essential Functions
- Direct, manage and develop a multi-level sales force capable of developing, growing and retaining accounts in the areas of maintenance services, insurance and commercial business to ensure the achievement of sales and retention goals
- Plan, organize, direct and provide leadership to achieve the short and long term business growth and retention objectives
- Ensure the delivery of Ryder's value proposition to customers and prospects through direct interaction with financial executives, or through his/her sales team
- Ensure the development and implementation of strategic and tactical marketing initiatives for assigned territory
- Develop and lead the execution of processes and sales activities designed to retain and grow current customers
- Interface with Ryder's customers and prospects to ensure the maximum development of opportunities associated with the full breadth of Ryder's products and services
- Ensure knowledge of competitor's strengths and weaknesses and manage execution of competitive strategy
- Ensure the achievement of growth and retention goals for new and replacement business
- Ensure focus on, and consistent execution around, Ryder initiatives to reduce lost business through meeting and exceeding customer expectations
- Provide sales functional leadership and expertise for assigned territory

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc.
Compensation ranges for the position are below:
