Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for the management of one or more projects. Must have a thorough understanding of project management methodologies and execute the same in strict accordance with the standards defined by the Ryder PMO. This position will interact with business partners and cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are achieved on time and within budget. PMO Project Managers are expected to report progress to all stakeholders, identify early warning signs and effectively communicate status and trend of their projects. PMO Project Managers escalate issues to executive steering committee members, facilitate decision making, document decisions and communicate direction to project team accordingly. Travel may be required on some projects.
Essential Functions
- Manage project plan, track dependencies, address constraints, resolve resource conflicts, assess impacts to plan, obtain estimates to complete forecast use of funds, ensure adherence to SDLC, report progress against plan.
- Develop and execute project communications plan, facilitate team meetings, participate in key meetings that directly or indirectly impact the project, keep project stakeholders informed, prepare for and conduct executive steering committee meetings.
- Gather content from respective project team members to complete interim and final deliverables. Present deliverables required at respective tollgates throughout the project live cycle. Obtain sign-off and approvals to proceed for stakeholders. Maintain project team repository of deliverables, reference materials and documentation. Prepare change requests as agreed to by project team and obtain signatures from project owner and sponsor.
- Prepare weekly status reports, track open issues, update risks (probability, severity and impact) and mitigation plans. Participate in PMO meetings with other Project Managers to identify potential dependencies or constraints.
- Manage project budget, maintain financial plan, track actuals vs. plan, provide monthly forecasts, and report monthly accruals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor and report to IT and process/function owner on the status of multiple concurrent project efforts.
- Provide analytical expertise within an assigned business unit/area in the analysis, design and development of business applications.
- Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
- Evaluate application software packages and make recommendations to management.
- Participate with other IT members, customers and stake holders in new product reviews, tests and pilots.
- Collect and analyze business requirements for large, multi-functional projects.
- Lead project teams through feasibility studies, translating requirements into an appropriate design.
- Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels.

- Strong project management skills with experience in organizing, planning and executing large-scale projects from vision to implementation involving internal personnel, contractors and vendors

- Must have the ability to manage support teams in a matrix environment, be pro-active with a continuous improvement mind set, motivate and generate results through influence
- Strong oral, interpersonal and written communications skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms
- Must be capable of providing cross-functional teams briefing as needed
- Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Flexibility to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, responsible, reliable pro-active self-starter requiring minimal supervision, with excellent time management skills
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
- Seven (7) years or more Information Technology experience with at least 5 years in a project management or supervisory/management role required

Compensation Information :
The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
