SAIC has an opportunity for a Business Process Technical Writer in Washington, DC. This role is hybrid and does require some onsite work.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the systems / processes / procedure and the documentation requirements for the division. Will be responsible for supporting multiple disciplines and teams and aid the division with gaining and sustaining and ISO20K certification.
- Write technical and business process documentation for various audiences, including but not limited to reports, dashboards, workflows, work instructions, support documents, by collection requirements, deployment business processes, documenting service levels, creating reports and dashboard to manage efforts for tracking the flow of work into the various teams.
- Create and manage project driven meetings for the purpose of defining new process management, on-boarding of new services into the division.
- Maintain action items lists
- Meeting notes
- Collaborate with team to write essential internal documentation that builds shared understanding of simple and complex processes.
- Learn complex technical information and communicate it in a readable, concise, and accurate manner to both technical and non-technical persons.
- Coordinate shared content and deliverables with other writers to include ISO20K auditors.
- Manage the time and effort a up to 2 other administrative support staff.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience; Master's degree and 4 years; may accept additional experience in lieu of a degree.
- Speaks and writes fluent and grammatically correct English.
- Experience researching and writing excellent documentation and examples for senior system administrators, business analysts, and/or developers.
- Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Extremely organized and has the ability to manage multiple & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing technical environment.
- Strong oral skills.
- Self- starter and problem solver.
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
- Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development.
- Basic familiarity with system administration.
- Ability to delegate and track the work of others.
Clearance Required:
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
- Must obtain interim secret prior to starting work.
Desired Education/Skills:
- Strong time management and multitasking skills; attention to detail.
- Experience working with multiple high priority tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable documenting and defining system details.
- Senior level documentation and reporting skills.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
