SAIC is seeking a Computer Operator II to report directly to the Operations Team Lead and provide direct support to the Command Center team in Santa Ana, CA.  The Computer Operator II will be able to provide support to monitor and perform nightly production batch processing in both the Open Systems and mainframe using Control-M products. Candidate will also be tasked to monitor several computer areas for the data center team. They must be able to perform data center facility walk-throughs multiple times per shift. The operator must also be proficient in Microsoft Office products. Candidate will be required to possess good verbal and written communication skills, be able to perform in pressure situations, and have considerable troubleshooting skills.

The Computer Operator II will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties: 

• Monitors and performs nightly production batch processing using Control-M for Open Systems
• Monitors and performs nightly production batch processing using Control-M for mainframe services
• Monitors the server and network performance using Solar Winds Orion
• Monitors the data center facilities alerts using SiteScan
• Monitors the data center security using Genetec Security Center CCTV
• Monitors the OnBase polling workstations
• Performs campus walk-through multiple times per shift
• Escorts data center visitors as per required basis
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, ie. Word, Excel, Visio
• ITIL comprehension for Change Request process, Incident Management creation and tracking

 

Qualifications

Required Education:

• AA Degree in related discipline and one year related experience; Or, High School and two (2) years of related experience with relevant certification.

 

Required Clearance: 

• No clearance required; US Citizenship required. 

 

Required Skills: 

• Ability to execute batch processing; monitor batch processing; AIX open systems and mainframe knowledge
• Some knowledge of adhoc work within excel and VISIO
• Good written and verbal communication and be able to self-motivate 
• Ability to use monitoring tools using Orion for network/ systems and Site scan/site-link to monitor facilities
• Perform recurring facilities walk-around checks
• Must be able to go up and down stairs

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
