SAIC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Configuration Management Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing configuration processes and ensuring the integrity of system configurations throughout the lifecycle. This role requires collaboration with various teams to maintain consistency across hardware, software, and documentation, contributing to the overall quality and reliability of our systems.

This position is contingent upon award expected in Fall 2025.  This work will be performed at the customer site in Crane, IN.
 
Key Responsibilities:

·         Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management (CM) plans, policies, and procedures.

·         Describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits.

·         Identify and define configuration items (CIs) and establish baselines in accordance with Navy standards.

·         Maintain the original configuration of requirements documentation, design documentation, software, and related documentation.

·         Responsible for configuration change control, ensuring that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.

·         Implement and manage version control systems to track changes to software, hardware, and documentation.

·         Ensure that updates and releases are properly versioned and documented.

·         Track all problems and changes in product documents and software and report changes and current configuration.

·         Maintain accurate records of configurations and changes, including configuration item data and relationships.

·         Support audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met, ensuring compliance with CM policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.

·         Generate and distribute configuration status reports to stakeholders and management.

·         Work closely with project managers, engineers, and QA teams to manage and communicate configuration changes.

·         Serve as the primary point of contact for CM-related inquiries and issues.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in configuration management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience required.  Years of service will be considered in lieu of degree

·         Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

·         Effective communication and interpersonal skills

·         Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy

 

Technical Skills:

·         Proficiency with Navy configuration management tools 

·         Strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices

 

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

·     Must be a US citizen

·     Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance 

·     Secret clearance preferred
