SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cyber Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing the security posture of our clients by designing, implementing, and managing advanced cybersecurity solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects in a collaborative and innovative environment, performing a variety of routine project tasks applied to specialized technology problems.

This position is contingent upon award expected in Fall 2025.  This work will be performed at the customer site in Crane, IN.



Key Responsibilities:


Security Design & Implementation:

Develop and implement robust security architectures for IT systems, including network, endpoint, and cloud-based environments.
Perform tasks involving the integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems, or technology problems as they relate to Information Assurance requirements.


Routine Project Tasks:

Execute a variety of routine project tasks related to specialized technology problems, ensuring practical solutions and seamless integrations.
Maintain consistency and accuracy in project execution to meet established objectives and compliance standards.


Incident Response & Management:

Lead incident response activities, including detection, investigation, and resolution of security events.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
 

Security Assessments & Consulting:

Conduct comprehensive security assessments to evaluate and enhance the security posture of systems and networks.
Provide expert security consulting services, offering sound advice on best practices, compliance requirements, and security strategies.


Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and vulnerability assessments to identify potential threats and weaknesses.
Recommend and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to manage identified risks.
 

Requirements Analysis:

Analyze information security requirements based on client needs, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.
Ensure that security requirements are integrated into system design and development processes.
 

Compliance & Auditing:

Ensure adherence to relevant cybersecurity standards, frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, GDPR, CMMC).
Prepare for and support internal and external security audits.
 

Security Monitoring & Operations:

Monitor security systems and tools to detect and respond to security incidents.
Maintain and optimize Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems and other security monitoring technologies.
 

Team Collaboration & Leadership:

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and operations, to integrate security into all aspects of system development and deployment.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cybersecurity staff.
 

Continuous Improvement:

Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices.
Develop and deliver security awareness training programs to enhance the security awareness of all employees.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and 5 years of experience.  Experience and clearly demonstrated skillset can be used in lieu of the educational requirement.

Must Possess:
Good communication skills to work closely with customer and vendors.
Good writing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office software Excel and Word.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation capabilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:

Technical Skills:

Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, protocols, and technologies.
Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, anti-virus software, data encryption, and other security tools.
Proficiency with cloud security technologies and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of network protocols, TCP/IP, and security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls).
 

Certifications:

Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, or equivalent are highly desirable.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:

·     Must be a US citizen

·     Must be able to obtain an Interim Secret clearance 

·     Secret clearance preferred
