SAIC is seeking a results-driven and highly collaborative Deputy Systems Engineer IPT (Integrated Product Team) Lead to support the SEIT organization on a complex DoD program in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This position will focus on day-to-day management, ensuring cross-functional teams are empowered and aligned to meet program goals. The Deputy SEIT Lead will work closely with team leaders to address challenges, maintain program momentum, and serve as a reliable backup for the SEIT Lead when needed. The role emphasizes strong systems engineering expertise, proactive leadership, and fostering a highly collaborative team environment.
Core Job Duties:
• Provide hands-on support to cross-functional leads (e.g., Systems Engineering, Testing, Cybersecurity) to ensure engineering teams have the resources they need to execute effectively.
• Oversee and manage progress on day-to-day systems engineering, integration, and testing activities to ensure alignment with program objectives.
• Serve as a dependable backup for the SEIT Lead, maintaining program continuity and decision-making when necessary.
• Collaborate with team leads to proactively identify and resolve issues related to requirements development, interface control, system design, integration, and testing.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement by empowering functional teams and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Engage with stakeholders, including internal teams and external customers, to communicate technical updates, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment across teams.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in systems engineering or a related STEM field and nine (9) or more years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree and seven (7) or more years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience in systems engineering with a focus on requirements, system integration, and technical execution.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to empower others, foster accountability, and manage day-to-day team dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and brief both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR), Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS), or other complex radar systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools or CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting government/defense systems integration efforts.
• INCOSE certification (CSEP or ESEP) or relevant professional credentials.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
