SAIC has new opportunities to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Tech Center in Atlantic City, NJ! These positions are 100% onsite and may require some travel to other airports within the United States.
Job Responsibilities may include:
- Create, maintain, and update comprehensive technical documentation, including System Design Documents (SDDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), User Manuals, and System Maintenance Guides.
- Develop site-specific documentation (e.g., Site Implementation Plans, Cutover Checklists, and Acceptance Test Reports) to support deployment activities.
- Maintain version-controlled records of all system changes, including adaptation data, software builds, and security updates.
- Support formal Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities by preparing change requests, impact analyses, and configuration status reports.
- Develop and maintain security documentation required for FAA Authority to Operate (ATO), including the System Security Plan (SSP), Risk Assessment Reports, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M).
- Coordinate with FAA cybersecurity teams to ensure TFDM systems comply with NIST 800-53, FISMA, and other federal security standards.
- Prepare and support security and documentation audits by internal FAA teams or external agencies.
- Ensure all documentation and security artifacts are accurate, current, and compliant with FAA program requirements.
- Track and document identified vulnerabilities, ensuring they are addressed through remediation or documented risk acceptance.
- Maintain logs of security patches, updates, and system hardening activities.
- Assist in planning and documenting security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability scans.
- Document test results and coordinate with system engineers to close security gaps.
- Develop training materials and quick-reference guides for TFDM system users, including cybersecurity best practices and secure operational procedures.
- Provide guidance to site implementation teams on documentation standards and security compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system integrators, and deployment leads to capture accurate technical and security details for documentation.
- Act as a liaison between program management, cybersecurity teams, and operational users for all documentation and security-related matters.
- Ensure sensitive TFDM program documentation and data are handled in compliance with FAA information assurance policies and access control measures.
- Enforce document classification, encryption, and storage protocols.
- Develop and refine documentation templates, style guides, and security checklists to improve consistency across TFDM artifacts.
- Recommend improvements to security documentation workflows, including automation tools and version tracking systems.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts / Science degree or a related technical field and 10+ years of relevant engineering/aviation experience, preferably with FAA systems.
Required Clearance:
- US Citizenship.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Public Trust.
