SAIC is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to support our Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) team located in Lakehurst, NJ. The work carried out by the ALRE team is crucial for maintaining the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Navy. The systems developed and maintained by the team contribute to the overall safety and efficiency of Navy ships.
This position requires onsite support 5 days a week at our customer site in Lakehurst. An active Secret clearance must be obtained prior to start date.
General Overview:
- Provides professional electrical engineering technical support to the full scope of assigned projects in naval or maritime applications, including field or on-site engineering services.
- Performs feasibility analyses and design/development, prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new components and engineering changes.
- Develops and reviews plans, specifications, and estimates to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Interprets data and performs studies and investigations to propose new or improved system designs, design criteria, and installation, operational, and maintenance practices.
- Has familiarity with and follows the Systems Engineering process to clearly identify program/project risks and technical barriers.
- Takes direction and tasking from supervisor and senor engineering team leads, provides status, and accomplishes work assignments meeting quality and schedule expectations.
- Performs and documents troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions in support of test site activities and efforts to commission, certify, deliver, and sustain Ford Class aircraft carriers.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronics engineering (BSEE)
- Possesses experience in design and development of new components and engineering changes, by leveraging systems engineering processes to reduce risk.
- An Active Interim Secret clearance is required to start
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and viewpoints.
- Has technical experience with low-power systems, complex programmable logic devices (CPLD), programmable logic controllers (PLC), computers, and human interfaces.
- Has been successful in the execution of technical projects within and electro-mechanical system.
PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:
- Has technical experience with high-power systems up to 13.8kVA.
