SAIC is currently seeking an Electronics Technician in Middletown, RI. This candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team of electrical & mechanical engineers, and other technicians to support the Fabrication and testing of systems built in facility to support advanced Naval Test Facility's.
Job Duties:
- Fabrication of test fixtures through the use of light metalworking under supervision.
- Shadowing a senior technician while they perform assembly tasks in order to learn the Fabrication/assembly techniques to adhere to manufacturing standards.
- Assemble or install equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or termination.
- May create, build, assemble, modify and/or repair prototypes, cables, and fixtures.
- Route, terminate and dress wire harness neatly.
- Assist with troubleshooting system issues.
- Assist with system calibrations for all sensor types (pressure transducers, flow meters, thermal couples, accelerometers).
- Assists with facility setup and teardown for multiple testing operations.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have the ability to obtain SECRET level clearance.
- Experience with some of the following:
- Comfortable working with basic electrical and mechanical tools.
- Familiarity with basic electrical equipment such as voltmeters or soldering irons.
- Must be able to work in a team environment while completing tasks in an unsupervised and self-directed fashion.
- Basic knowledge in reading electrical schematics.
