SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician IV to work second shift in support of the U.S. Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION 

  • Provides technical support for AEA assigned systems or platforms to include the modification, maintenance, and repair for the Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) Increment One Block One (I1B1) program.
  • Conduct routine repair, retrofit, systems integration, calibration and testing; in-line repair and testing; operation of test equipment; coordinate test schedules; prepare inputs for test plans; review test plans and procedures; conduct or monitor system, subsystem, equipment or component testing; adjust units under test; analyze test results; and determine valid recommendations and conclusions based on test data.
  • This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:
    • Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;
    • Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
    • Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data;
    • Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.
    • Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree and at least 3 years of related experience OR High School Diploma and at least 4 years of related experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start
  • Must be  U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to work from schematics and engineering drawings

DESIRED

  • Soldering experience preferred, but not required
