SAIC is looking for an Engineering Technician VI in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Command-and-Control System Engineering Technician, the person in this position will be a critical member of our CAC2S team responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of hardware systems essential for CAC2S operations. This role involves maintaining and upgrading this system with limited supervision. No instructions should be needed on routine work and general instructions will be given on new lines of work or special assignments. Tasking will involve:
- Supporting engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems. Applications may include electronic circuits, photonics and logic systems.
- Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and trouble-shooting functions.
- Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions. Collects, maintains, organizes, compiles, and manipulates technical data.
- Prepares engineering documentation, reports, drawings (sketches/flow charts/diagrams/schematics, etc.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's Degree in related discipline and at least 3 years of related experience; Additional experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Must have production cable building experience.
- Must have experience wiring electronics.
- Must have a background in reading schematics/drawings and troubleshooting from schematics/drawings.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
