SAIC is currently seeking an Exercise Scenario Manager located on Camp Smith in Honolulu, Hawaii to lead the development and implementation of training scenarios throughout the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) and execution of designated joint military exercises directed by USINDOPACOM J71, Joint Exercise Division.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Support the J71 by designing and managing realistic scenarios informed by research on real-world military and geopolitical landscapes and input from subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure alignment with Commander, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command's exercise focus areas for joint military exercises with Allies and Partners such as PACIFIC FURY, VALIANT SHIELD, BALIKATAN, among others.
- Guide a team comprised of U.S. and Allied military and interagency personnel in the design of a comprehensive, realistic, months-long scenario.
- Prepare and brief senior leadership and members of the Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) on scenario-related topics during planning conferences throughout the JELC.
- Conduct independent research and facilitate briefings on emergent geopolitical dynamics within the USINDOPACOM AOR.
- Oversee the development of the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) to support CPX or FTX execution.
- Manage the Opposing Force (OPFOR) scheme of maneuver throughout scenario development and CPX execution.
- Manage scenario progression throughout exercise execution to ensure alignment with Exercise Director's intent through participation in daily battle rhythm events and close monitoring of ECG response cell actions.
- Produce exercise higher headquarters orders (ie: PLANORD, WARNORD) to facilitate guidance for training audience planning.
- Facilitate the development and integration of kinetic and non-kinetic processes into training, exercise, rehearsal, testing, and experimentation events.
- Provide exercise support through information and knowledge management industry best practices.
- Support identification strengths and gaps within organizational plans, processes, and procedures.
- International travel approximately 10% of the year or as required, to support the planning and execution of designated exercises with foreign Allies and Partners.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree with five (5)+ years' experience; four (4) years experience accepted in lieu of degree.
- Experience working in a Joint headquarters.
- Experience researching complex military and geopolitical topics in order to enhance scenario design.
- Ability to lead components in the planning and execution of JELC events, work plans, seminars, and war games.
- Familiarity with the USINDOPACOM mission and area of responsibility.
- Comfortable leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation tools in conjunction with your duties
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
- Candidates must have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance;
- Must have current US Citizenship.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
