SAIC is seeking a Field Service Engineer / Team Lead to support the Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI) Network program in support of the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Program Executive Officer for Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (PEO C3BM). This position is responsible for leading and synchronizing all aspects of site survey execution in direct support of the ABMS DI Network—the backbone of the DAF Battle Network and the Air Force's contribution to the DoD's Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) warfighting concept.
The ABMS DI Network is building a secure, resilient, multi-enclave digital infrastructure that connects warfighters from the tactical edge to the strategic enterprise, spanning Unclassified through TS/SCI security domains across space, air, land, maritime, and information operations environments. As Team Lead, you will serve as the primary on‑the‑ground coordinator, transforming engineering designs into operational network capability delivered to warfighters on quarterly release cycles.
Positions available in Reston, VA and San Diego, CA.
Job Responsibilities
-
Lead and synchronize all aspects of site survey execution, serving as the primary point of contact for coordinating team logistics, travel itineraries, and on-site operations across DoD installations and operational sites.
-
Serve as the primary briefer and report author, preparing and delivering professional presentations and written reports to base leadership, local commanders, and senior DoD stakeholders on survey findings, site readiness, and deployment status.
-
Coordinate across a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment, interfacing with internal engineering teams, external DI Network performers, base infrastructure personnel, warfighters, and the ABMS Program Management Office (PMO).
-
Lead the survey and deployment team through technical and operational gaps, addressing deficiencies across network engineering, logistics, or operational domains as mission demands.
-
Support the PMO and Design Work Package (WP) team as required, providing ground‑truth site data and operational insights that inform DI Network release planning and design decisions.
-
Manage competing priorities across multiple concurrent site surveys, maintaining schedule discipline and quality standards within an agile delivery environment operating on quarterly release cycles.
-
Ensure team readiness and compliance with all security, travel, and operational protocols across Unclassified, Secret, and TS/SCI security enclaves.
