SAIC is looking for a Lead Mobility Field Service Rep in Okinawa, Japan to support our Combat and Strategic Systems Operation in supporting 2nd and 3rd echelon maintenance, and Operator/Maintenance Training on the Medium and Light Tactical Vehicle Platforms in support of Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane tasking portfolio.

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Act as the primary on-site lead for all operations and personnel relating to JLTV maintenance, training, and support.
  • Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of team efforts to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Serve as the main liaison between on-site staff, SAIC program management, government stakeholders, and other program partners.


Maintenance and Technical Support:

  • Perform and oversee 2nd and 3rd echelon maintenance, ensuring vehicles and equipment are operational and compliant with standards.
  • Identify and replace components, conduct functional tests, verify operational readiness, and document all maintenance activities.
  • Review and apply applicable service advisories, updates, and technical documentation.
     

System Expertise:

Provide support for a variety of JLTV systems, including:

  • Communication systems.
  • Engine repairs.
  • Automatic and manual transmissions.
  • Suspension and brake systems.
  • Electronic and electrical systems.
  • HVAC and ancillary system maintenance. 


Training Delivery:

  • Develop and deliver operator and maintenance training programs focused on JLTV systems and subsystems.
  • Train personnel on system operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance procedures to ensure readiness.
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to ensure sustainment of skills among the team and operators.


Analysis and Recommendations:

  • Evaluate and improve equipment installation, operation, and maintenance processes.
  • Provide recommendations for system modifications or enhancements to improve efficiency and reliability.


Travel Requirements:

  • Travel to various locations within the region or as part of operational requirements, up to 50% of the time, to execute maintenance, training, and technical support tasks.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree and a minimum of three years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in integration, installation, repair, and preventative maintenance efforts for Military wheeled vehicles.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start. SAIC will sponsor the clearance process. 
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Available for a flexible work schedule, including extended or weekend hours, sometimes on short notice, to include holidays as needed.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Relevant experience to show the ability to provide classroom and physical practical exercise instruction for Field Level Maintenance New Equipment Training (FLMNET) for LTV platforms.
  • Formally trained mechanic either through Military or formal Post secondary education.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DD OF346 (U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card). 
  • Ability to perform all duties while scrupulously adhering to all prescribed safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and processes related to electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to use various hand, power-driven, and specialty tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, handbooks, sketches, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings.
  • Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, and labels.
  • Ability to annotate and modify documentation into databases.
  • Ability to perform quality repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain serialized parts inventory; This will include warranty tracking to ensure retention for potential return. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a valid passport and be able to travel to various locations as needed, up to 50%.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to complete the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, pulling, pushing and/or carrying up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb into confined spaces within tactical vehicles.
  • Able to manipulate and handle objects needed for installation: reaching, grasping, twisting, turning and manipulating equipment and tools within confined spaces, as well as walking, bending, stooping, sitting, standing or squatting for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass DOT Medical Exam.


DESIRED:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • GM, ASE A1/A8 Certification or Master ASE certification.
  • Medium/Heavy Duty and Light Duty diesel experience.
  • Experience working with Cat-ET, DG Diagnostics, and the DANA testing tool (two or more years).
  • Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., inspection process, company quality procedures).
  • Strong mechanical skills and experience supporting military ground tactical vehicles: troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and checkout procedures.
