SAIC is seeking a Ground Enterprise Mission Systems Engineer to supports it Prime Program, Landmark AOS in Chantilly, VA. Landmark AOS is a large SETA program, supporting the NRO's Ground Enterprise Directorate (GED), responsible for the acquisition of systems over the complete end-to-end life cycle.
Job Duties to include:
- Support end-to-end analysis of mission system outages across the NRO Ground Enterprise, synthesizing technical data from multiple sources to produce accurate, time-sensitive situational reports for senior leadership.
- Consolidate system telemetry, operator logs, and engineering inputs to identify root causes, mission impacts, and restoration timelines.
- Evaluate operational degradations and outages to determine mission impact, cross-mission dependencies, and risk to critical intelligence collection.
- Coordinate with subsystem engineers, operations crews, and mission partners to validate impact assessments and ensure enterprise-wide awareness.
- Aggregate and normalize data from disparate monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and mission platforms to create unified operational views.
- Produce daily, weekly, and event-driven operational reports for NRO senior leadership, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise reporting standards.
- Deliver concise executive summaries that highlight trends, risks, and recommended actions.
- Serve as a central coordination point during mission system incidents, ensuring timely information flow between engineering teams, operations centers, and leadership.
- Track incident timelines, document key decisions, and maintain authoritative status of ongoing events.
- Support configuration management, requirements traceability, and technical baseline updates related to operational reporting tools and processes.
- Conduct long-term trend analysis on outages, degradations, and system performance to identify systemic issues and propose corrective actions.
- Develop process improvements that streamline reporting workflows and increase accuracy and timeliness.
- Partner with mission operations, development contractors, cybersecurity teams, and enterprise service providers to ensure consistent reporting and shared situational awareness.
- Facilitate technical exchanges that align operational reporting with evolving mission needs and enterprise architectures.
- Maintain detailed documentation of reporting processes, outage analyses, and operational procedures to support audits, readiness reviews, and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience. Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
- Experience supporting or similar IC acquisition/operations organizations
- 5+ years of experience supporting mission operations within the NRO
- Knowledge of enterprise architectures, CONOPS, and system‑of‑systems interactions
- Knowledge of trend analysis, root‑cause assessments, or long‑term performance studies
- Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in a government/contractor team environment
- Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment.
- Self-motivated Professional capable of executing tasks with minimal guidance
