SAIC is hiring an experienced Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) Software Tester to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Program.  This resource will support an IV&V project that assists in verifying systems, protecting data, and maintaining secure operations. The position will primarily focus on conducting application testing, maintaining requirements / testing documentation, verifying vendor work, and evaluating test results against defined functional requirements to ensure high-quality software is delivered to the client. The candidate will be working with the SAIC Team to develop test cases, analyze requirements, support traceability among requirements/testing artifacts, and perform functional and regression tests.  They will interact daily with other team members, vendor personnel, and government clients in support of this initiative.  Candidate must understand industry trends to continue to develop and recommend alternative approaches to all tasks.

Qualifications

·         U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance

·         3+ years of experience in software testing with a bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

  • Understanding of standards and best practices specific to IV&V

·         Proficiency in conducting various types of manual functional software testing (System/Regression, User Acceptance, 508, etc.) in accordance with software test plans and procedures

·         Perform IV&V Application testing on web, Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and mobile Systems against documented requirements

  • Familiar with Section 508 concepts and performing 508 testing utilizing approved 508 compliance tools such as a screen reader.

·         Proven experience creating, updating, and maintaining comprehensive documentation that thoroughly verify the applications' functionality such as Requirements Traceability Matrices, Test Plans, and Test Scripts

·         Experience analyzing business requirement documents and functional requirement documents to develop executable test cases

·         Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to understand complex software systems and efficiency in identifying potential issues

o   Ability to debug and characterize defects, providing detailed configuration and descriptions for passing and failing tests for product evaluation reports.

·         Exceptional oral and written communication skills to

o   Review, analyze and evaluate documentation and test plans for completeness and compliance with the IRS requirements.

o   Document test results in formal End of Test reports including potential defects based on performed test results for management and client reviews

o   Execute and maintain a large library of manual test steps

o   Collaborate with multiple stakeholder groups weekly about status of all IV&V activities

o   Other documentation tasks as needed

·         Outstanding time management skills with the ability to multi-task, work independently, manage resources, and achieve critical deadlines.

  • Proficient in standard suite of office productivity tools (Microsoft Office products, web browsers and file systems).
  • Some experience with automated testing tools or how artificial intelligence can improve software testing processes.

Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
